Welcome to another short Cebuano lesson.
Today we’ll look at sentence structure in Cebuano.
Cebuano sentences very often start with the verb, the action. After the verb, you usually say who is doing the action.
Let’s use an example you already know:
Gusto ko og kape.
This sentence is built like this:
First comes the action: gusto.
Then the person doing the action: ko.
Then the object: og kape.
So the common order is:
Action → person → object
Now here is another very common verb: moadto (to go).
Moadto ko sa tindahan.
I am going to the store.
Again, it follows the same idea:
Moadto is the action, ko is the person, and sa tindahan is the place.
Now listen and repeat:
Gusto ko og kape.
Moadto ko sa tindahan.
Practice saying the action first, then the person. This will make Cebuano sentences much easier to build.
That’s today’s Cebuano lesson.
